FreeIn Tune – MAKING FUTURES CONFERENCE
This event is co-hosted by PAC and Arts University Plymouth as part of the Making Futures conference. Tickets are free but advance booking is recommended.
Dir. Robert Schwarz and Susanne Aßmann, Germany, 2026, 40 mins. In English with subtitles. Initiated by Mira Müller and Mara Trübenbach. Suitable for all ages.
IN TUNE documents a week-long, practice-based research workshop at Bauhaus-Universität Weimar, bringing together an international group of architects and designers to explore diverse approaches to design and making. Moving between craft techniques such as steam bending and weaving, digital processes such as 3D scanning, and performative experiments, the workshop creates a space for encounters between material knowledge, technological processes, and embodied experience.
Conceived as an open-ended practice, design unfolds through acts of attention, movement, and collaboration. Situated between documentary observation and an artistic cinematic language, IN TUNE traces moments in which established structures are questioned, notions of authorship are renegotiated, and alternative forms of collective making emerge. Rather than proposing a singular approach, the film attends to the relationships and processes that shape these shared explorations — foregrounding care, responsibility, and mutual attentiveness as essential conditions for making together.
