Sadly, and in accordance with the new lockdown rules, Plymouth Arts Cinema will be closed from Thursday 5 November. Screenings of White Riot and Miss Juneteenth on the 3rd and 4th November are going ahead as planned.
We very much hope to reopen again in December and will update you as soon as we can. Although we are as disappointed as you are that we have to temporarily close, your safety is our highest priority and we hope that this circuit breaker will help to get the spread of Covid-19 under control. When we re-open, our range of measures to make your visit as safe as possible will remain in place. We will publish updates on our website, social media pages, and in these emails.
Plymouth Arts Cinema will be going dark from the 6th – 23rd November. The majority of staff will be furloughed during this time. The phone lines (Box Office and Office) and firstname.lastname@example.org will only be monitored occasionally, so if you do need to get in touch, please bear with us and we will get back to you when we can.
All screenings from Thursday 5th November to Thursday 3rd December (inclusive) are cancelled. If you hold tickets for any of those screenings, we will contact you by phone or email this week to process the ticket returns and ask you if you would like a credit note, a refund on your payment card, or to convert some or all of your booking value into a donation to Plymouth Arts Cinema. You can also email us on email@example.com to let us know which option you would like to pick. We will be processing all ticket returns as soon as possible but we appreciate your patience while we do this. It is a very manual process and one that we want to get right.
We have momentarily suspended all ticket sales for screenings scheduled between Friday 4th December and Friday 18th December. We will review the December programme at the end of November. If we have to cancel any screening within these dates, we will contact ticket holders at the beginning of December.
We will continue to work with some of our favourite distributors and festivals to bring you exciting new films online. PAC will receive a portion of the ticket price, so you can support us while enjoying films that we have carefully curated for you. Check our What’s On page for listings.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support.
It was wonderful to see so many of you back at the cinema during our opening month. Although brief, it was a success and a source of hope for the future! Hopefully it won’t be too long before we can welcome you back again.
With all best wishes,
Anna and the Team at Plymouth Arts Cinema
