Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek whose precious solitude is suddenly shattered by an invasion of annoying fairy tale characters who have all been banished from their kingdom by the evil Lord Farquaad. Determined to save their home, not to mention his, Shrek cuts a deal with Farquaad and sets out to rescue Princess Fiona to be Farquaad's bride. But rescuing the Princess may be small compared to her deep, dark secret.

An exhibition of new work by Judith Noble inspired by the lives and work of geologists Edward and Annie Greenly.

Over the last five years, artist Judith Noble Has created a body of work inspired by pioneer geologists Edward (1861 – 1951) and Annie (1852 – 1927) Greenly and their mapping of the geology of Ynys Môn. All these works have been made at one site; a rock outcrop on the beach at Rhosneigr that Edward Greenly drew and which featured in in his major work, The Geology of Anglesey.

Here’s another chance to catch it, at this special screening with an intro and Q&A from the brilliant community arts organisation @take_a_part_uk

Passionate sea swimmer turned reluctant activist, Exmouth-based Jo Bateman, she takes on one of the UK’s biggest water companies in a David-and-Goliath battle to protect our waters from devastating sewage pollution.

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with artists from Take A Part ‘s ‘There Is No New Water - Toolkit For Ocean Citizen Action’ project taking place in Plymouth.

4k Restoration

In celebration of the centenary of Marilyn Monroe’s birth, The Misfits, her last and most poignant film, has been restored.

On the surface, Huston's film is an off-beat drama of broken-hearted cowboys and broken-down marriages; of a dying American Dream. Behind the scenes, the production itself was fraught. As well as contending with the searing heat of the desert, Marilyn Monroe’s own marriage to screenwriter Arthur Miller was breaking apart, and the actor’s mental health was spiralling. The film would be the last for both Monroe and her co-star Clark Gable. Miller's script proved poignant and prophetic when it had one character, shotgun in hand, explain to the crew of horse wranglers gathered on the barren Nevada desert: "you'll probably never see this again in history, you know."
