Singin’ In the Rain (U) Open Air Cinema at Tinside Lido
Online sale for this event is now closed. Tickets are available to purchase at the doors tonight from 7.15pm. We advise bringing cash to pay for tickets at the door (£15 Full Price | £10 Child Under 12 - no further concessions or discounts).
Dir. Gene Kelly, US, 1952, 103 mins.
Cast. Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds, Donald O’Connor, Jean Hagen.
It's 1927 in Hollywood and the stuntman-turned-matinee-idol star of Monumental Pictures, Don Lockwood (Kelly), is caught in the bumpy transition from silent films to talkies. When the studio's attempts to make their own talkie turn disastrous, it's down to Don, his songwriter best friend Cosmo (O'Connor) and ingénue love interest Kathy (Reynolds) to save the day… by turning the film into a musical! Without a doubt one of the best musicals ever made.
Venue: Tinside Lido, Hoe Rd, Plymouth PL1 3DE
Doors open from 7.15pm, film starts from 9pm
FILM START TIME UPDATE: The programme should start soon after 9pm. Please note film start time might be delayed until light levels are low enough to project on the screen, but we will aim to start as close to 9pm as possible and no later than 9.30pm (information updated on 16 August).
