Mark Essen joins us to discuss his practice, including recent and ongoing exhibition projects such as Jerwood 3-phase with Larry Achiampong and Nicola Singh. Jerwood 3-Phase highlights three exhibition moments showcasing work by the artists over an 18 month period; in 2017, exhibiting at Jerwood Space, and later this year presenting another group exhibition at WORKPLACE, and a solo show for each artist at Eastside Projects in the Autumn of 2018. Mark will also talk to us about his new studio project Modern Clay, Birmingham, – a socially engaged ceramics studio aiming to remove the boundaries between fine and applied arts and crafts.
