As you may know, Plymouth Arts Cinema’s projector failed over the weekend. Unfortunately the problem was terminal. We are now installing a brand new laser projector. It’s a critical piece of equipment, which will give us resilience for the future, and is 80% more energy efficient than the old one, which will save on annual costs. As you may imagine however, a new projector is a huge expense for a tiny organisation.
We will be launching a fundraising campaign in the near future to help us to deal with this extra cost. If you would like to help in the meantime, we suggest that you keep booking cinema tickets, purchase your snacks and drinks from the bar when you visit, and if you feel that you can, make a donation.
We will be back on screen on Tuesday 6th May at 6pm. Online ticket sales are open but our physical box office at PAC will be closed until Tuesday at 5pm.
We are programming screenings of The Penguin Lessons and The Return for early June, so you can catch up if you missed out this week.
Thank you for your patience and support while we work on reopening.
The Team at Plymouth Arts Cinema
OK, word on the street is our NEW proj is same spec as a certain foo-foo, high-end boutique cinema down on the waterfront…
So – same picture, better programming and no food smells, right? Now all you have to is spin that into an ethical marketing campaign…
Go PACkers!
(And – put me down for the Kickstarter.)
