This summer we’re excited to present a season of family friendly cinema events, with films, creative workshops and talks.

We take care to make sure that our cinema is friendly and welcoming to young audiences, with a relaxed, accessible and neurodiverse friendly environment.

The café-bar will be open, with a range of cinema snacks and hot and cold drinks. Check out our menu. The Arts University Plymouth Refectory will also be open for lunch.

Disney’s breathtaking live-action version of The Little Mermaid will begin with an introduction by curators from The Box, Plymouth.

Marcel the Shell with Shoes On

A hidden gem – this is a heartwarming stop-motion animation about Marcel, a walking, talking shell who is looking for his long-lost family.
On Wednesday 31 July, you can join us for a Family Cyanotype Workshop with Fotonow (1pm- 2pm, £5 per child, booking essential).
And on Wednesday 14 August, don’t miss the opportunity to take part in a family workshop with Arts University Plymouth to design and build your own shell character (9.30am-10.30am, £5 per child, booking essential).

In this year’s big blockbuster, Riley explores new emotions in this exuberant sequel to Inside Out. There will be a FREE drop-in session before each screening with Inside Out 2 activities and colouring sheets.

The NeverEnding Story

The 40th Anniversary reissue of The NeverEnding Story is a magical adventure that is sure to evoke some nostalgia amongst parents! Artist Kathy Wray will be running a Mythical Creatures Creative Workshop before each of the screenings. The workshops are £3.50 per child, booking essential.
