Trained from an early age by rigorous, perfectionist Professor Bojinski, Polina is a promising classical dancer. She is just about to join the prestigious Bolshoi Ballet Academy when she discovers contemporary dance and everything is thrown into question. She moves to France to work with famous choreographer Liria Elsaj but despite her determination and hard work to the point of obsession she just can't seem to break through. This is a visually and sonically gorgeous coming-of-age film following the artistic growth of a young Russian dancer and features international dance stars Anastasia Shevitsova (Mariinsky Theatre) and Jeremie Belingard (Paris Opera Company).
