Pan’s Labyrinth is one of the cinema’s great fantasies, rich with darkness, folklore and fairy-tale and we thought there’s no better place to see this than in the dark and mysterious woodlands of Mount Edgcumbe. A fairy tale for adults it is set in 1940s Spain where recently remarried Carmen and daughter Ofelia move in with the cold and authoritarian new husband, Vidal. Finding her new life difficult, Ofelia seeks refuge in a labyrinth she discovers next to the house. A magical creature named Pan, the guardian of the labyrinth gives her three dangerous tasks.

It’s a fairy tale of such potency and awesome beauty that it reconnects the adult imagination to the primal thrill and horror of the stories that held us spellbound as children.” – Jim Emerson, Chicago Sun-Times, 2006

Dir. Guillermo Del Toro, Mexico/Spain, 2006, 119 mins, subtitled.
Cast. Ivana Baquero, Doug Jones, Sergi Lopez, Ariadna Gil, Maribel Verdu.

Q. How can I book tickets?
A. Please book online on this page. We have expanded our Open Air Cinema programme this year to incorporate an extra weekend at Tinside Lido, because the events are so popular and the venue is perfect. Meanwhile, we will be closing our building for the summer on June 29th. This is slightly earlier than in previous years, and will mean that booking for Open Air Cinema events will be online only after June 28th. All tickets purchased online for Open Air Cinema can be collected at the events, or printed at home. If you have issues with booking online, please call the Box Office on 01752 206114 or email info@plymouthartscinema.org and we will get back to you as soon as possible.

Q. Will the Cremyll Ferry be running?
A. Yes it will. It will be normal ferries over, they sail every 30 minutes on the quarter-to and quarter-past the hour from Stonehouse. The charge is £1.50 on the way out. The charge is £2.50 on the way back because it is a special late ferry.

Q. Where in Mount Edgcumbe will the Open Air Cinema be based and where can I park?
